If you follow me on instagram, or if you know me even a little you know that I love documenting my life. You also might know that last June I offered my first IPhone workshops. It was a great experience for me personally, I realized that I love teaching. I have been excited to offer more of these workshops. I recently finished reading "Carry On, Warrior" by Glennon Doyle Melton. Their was a passage where she explained her need to write, "I write to find the treasures in the suffering. And as I write, my memories change ever so slightly. Reality and writing work together to create my memories, and the final result is that I remember events more beautifully then they actually happened. Or maybe in writing them down, I am able to see for the first time how beautiful they really were. " When I read that I felt as though she were reading my mind, except that for me, it's not just writing, it's also photography. I wrote recently on instagram how "taking photographs is a daily ritual of gratitude. It is a practice of seeing, of focusing, of truly hunting down the magic that is always present. Photography is my way of unraveling layers of mundane responsibilities in my life, work and parenting to find the treasures in each day. To me this ritual is deeply satisfying, for on any given day, when I forget my blessings, I can quickly go back to my beautiful journal of my life and see them all staring right at me.". Through my workshop I want to help you gather some skills so that you can better capture those memories, so that you can literally or figuratively have a journal of your own life's magic.
After teaching my last courses I found that people seemed to genuinely find it valuable, and with a few tweaks I hope to make the course even more useful. I will be hosting another iPhone course at my house March 18, from 10-11:30am. Join me for tips on helpful apps, editing tips, setting the stage for your kids to have a magical experience, how to get the right exposure and so much more. If you have questions, bring those too, I don't mind going over in time, if need be. Light refreshments will be provided.
There were quite a few people last time that were interested in attending, but finding dates that worked for peoples schedules was difficult. This got me thinking, that rather then me picking a date opening it up to anyone, perhaps you would like to pick a date and find a group of friends to take the course with. Make it a girls wine night, where I come to you, think of the fun we could have? If you want to host an IPhone course at your house, the cost to your group at this time would be $250. That means if you have 5 people at your party you are only paying $50 each, but if you have 8 people, it would only cost you guys 31.25$ each. The host of the party would also be given a $100 off voucher towards a family lifestyle session with me. If you are interested in hosting your own iPhone Workshop feel free to email with any questions you might have, and let's make it happen. I would love to meet you!
If you have any questions about either option, email me at hello@upandawaystudios.com
